- A candidate must be a citizen of India, or subject of Nepal, a subject of Bhutan, or a Tibetan refugee who came over to India before the 1st January 1962
- A candidate for this examination must have aged between 21 years to 30 years on 1
st January 2023 - If applicants are Government servants then their age will be considered up to 35 years.
- Applicants must have a degree in Engineering from a University by an Act of the Central or State Legislature in India
- Candidates who obtained a degree/diploma in Engineering from such foreign University/College/Institution
- Candidates must be physically fit according to physical standards for admission to Engineering Services Examination, 2023
