Plot Review
Disney’s newest Pixar animated film, Luca, features the vocal talents of actors such as Jacob Trembaly (Wonder), Jack Dylan Grazer (Shazam), Emma Berman (The LEGO Movie), Staverton Raimondo (The Incredibles), Maya Rudolph (Bridemaids), and Jim Gaffigan (The Lego Movie) (13 Going On 30).
The film takes place in Italy and follows the story of a gentle sea monster called Luca (Tremblay) who comes into contact with a mystery child named Alberto (Dylan Grazer) on dry land. When it is revealed that Alberto may be a sea monster in disguise, the monster decides to test life on land by disguising himself as a human youngster. They eventually become the closest of friends, and one day they encounter a young woman called Giulia (Berman) who has no idea that she has met two sea monsters. Still, the question remains: will their secret be revealed?
In general, we remembered it as a nice film. The premise has been done to death, but I couldn’t help but think of “The Little Mermaid” when I saw the synopsis, since it’s a “fish out of water movie,” but in this case, the setting is Italy rather than New York or Denmark.
Speaks for the regular citizens are provided by Maya Rudolph and Jim Gaffigan, while Sacha Baron Coen voices the monster’s uncle and Saverio Raimondo provides the voice for the villain, Ercole Visconti. What I liked most about the film was the message it sent about being yourself and not being scared to show the world. Listen closely for Gino D’Campo, the famous leader, since he sounds like an Italian priest.
On June 18 of 2021, Disney+ began streaming Luca. This is an excellent Pixar film that you should definitely check out.
Conclusion
This animated movie is one of the best ones out there. The most compelling aspects of this movie are definitely the storyline and the characters, both of which have a lot going for them in terms of audience appeal.
However, the music, which is the true star of the show, is the primary factor that has contributed to this movie’s widespread acclaim. If you want to watch a fun animated movie with your friends or family at home, this is a good one to choose to watch since the narrative has some fascinating turns, but generally, it’s a good one to watch.
